Crapemyrtle Bark Scale—Chemical Control

Over the past three crapemyrtle bark scale webinars, we have learned about susceptible species and crapemyrtle cultivars, mechanical and biorational pesticides, and beneficial insects in the landscape. Despite these efforts, crapemyrtle bark scale populations may still be higher than desired, especially in a nursery setting where tolerance for the presence of scale is very low. In this webinar, we will learn about research demonstrating insecticide options that can significantly reduce crapemyrtle populations in nursery and landscape settings. We will also cover what we know about the impacts of these treatments on beneficial insects.
