Join us on Thursday, February 26th for the Williamson County 4-H Fashion Show! Following judging we will have an awards ceremony. The county Fashion Show will follow D8 rules and guidelines – see the District 8 Fashion Contest Page for guidelines, forms, and labels.
NEW this year – Clover Kids can participate in the buying categories! Note that Clover Kid entries will not be scored or placed, but they will present to judges and walk in the Fashion Show, and will be recognized for participation.
STORYBOARDS: Storyboards will be given feedback only (no placings) and will be displayed at the county event. Note that Storyboards at the district level will need to be physical boards and you will upload photos of your board to enter. At the state level (seniors only, invitational contest), Storyboards will need to be created digitally. For our county event, you can choose either option to submit for feedback.

County Roundup Contest: Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Williamson County Extension Office. Specific schedule details will be sent to all registered participants.
County Roundup will include Educational Presentations, Public Speaking, and 4-H Talent Showcase events. Our contests will follow the District 8 Roundup rules and guidelines – please review the guidelines for category information on each event.
For Educational Presentations – if you are using a PowerPoint, please bring your presentation on a USB drive. Our laptops use Microsoft Office so make sure it’s in a compatible format.
For Talent Showcase – we cannot provide any equipment (instruments, microphones, lighting, etc.). You will need to bring the equipment that you need for your presentation.

2025 Texas Roundup
Date: June 1 – 4, 2026
Registration: Open April 13-May 5 through 4-H Online. – For senior aged members, there are qualifying contests AND invitational contests at Roundup, as well as informational sessions to attend. See the Texas 4-H Roundup page for additional information.

REMINDER – Deadline to enroll on 4-H Online for senior level members wanting to attend Texas 4-H Roundup. This applies to youth participating in qualifying contests, invitational contests, or substituting team members. 4-H’ers must be active enrolled members by March 1 to participate.
4-H Photography
2026 Williamson County 4-H Photography Contest
Photo Uploads due by January 30th – no late entries!
- Only entries from active enrolled 4-H Members will be accepted
- Age divisions are determined by the participant’s grade: Clover K-2nd grade, Junior 3rd-5th grade, Intermediate 6th-8th grade, Senior 9th-12th grade.
- Limit of one entry per category for each member
- See below for which categories are offered to each age division
- Accepted formats: .jpeg, .jpg, or .png
- Photo must be a minimum of 300dpi quality resolution
- Ratio must be 3:2 (4′ X 6″) OR 5:4 (8″X10″), can be landscape or portrait
- Size may not be larger than 10MB
- The file name of each photo should be “initials.category.agedivision.year” for example: AH.animalsdomestic.intermediate.26 – this is what helps us determine who the photo belongs to! If the file is not named properly it’s hard to tell who submitted it.

- NOTE we will be following the district category rules. Photos will be accepted for the following categories in each age division:
- Junior (3rd-5th grade): Animals – Domestic/Wildlife, Plant/Landscape/Nature, People, Catch All
- Intermediate (6th-8th grade): Animals – Domestic/Wildlife, Plant/Landscape/Nature, People, Details/Macro, Elements of Design, Catch All, Dominant Color, Theme: Volunteers in Action
- Senior (9th-12th grade): all 18 categories offered at the state level
- Photos submitted that do not fit the category you enter may be subject to disqualification.
- For Clover Kid (K-2nd grade entries) photos may be entered in the following categories: Animals – Domestic/Wildlife, Plant/Landscape/Nature, People. Note that Clover Kid entries will not be scored or placed, but will be recognized for participation and will receive notes on their photos.

The winner of each category in the junior, intermediate, and senior age divisions in the Williamson County Contest will advance to the District 8 Contest. Senior aged 4-H members that win their category in the county contest will also advance to State.

Registration Fee: $10 per Food Challenge team – by October 17 bring cash or check made payable to 4-H Adult Leaders, or pay online here (including a small fee). Only full team payments will be accepted.
Again this year: participants and families can purchase tickets for a pizza dinner on the night of the contest. $5 per person – by October 17 bring cash or check made payable to 4-H Adult Leaders, or pay online here (including a small fee).
**NEW** We will be offering a Clover Kids division for Food Challenge this year! Clover Kids (registered K-2nd grade members) will be able to participate in Food Challenge. The purpose of their participation will be for a fun project experience, so their rules will be less strict and they will receive participation certificates (without a score or placing).
Reminders:
- All youth must be enrolled 4-H members and must be academically eligible to participate
- Food Show contestants will prepare their dish at home and bring it to the contest ready to present
- Food Challenge teams will need to bring their own supply boxes and pantry items (make sure they fit 2024-2025 lists and guidelines!)
- Rules for both contests will follow D8 contest guidelines (linked above)

Record Books
County Record Books
Record books are an essential part of the 4-H experience! Filling out a record book is helpful for keeping a record of your 4-H career and accomplishments, can help you win awards, and will come in handy for filling out scholarship applications and resumes. It’s never too early to start working on your record book – if you have questions, email brittany.allen@ag.tamu.edu.
County Record Books are due: May 29, 2025
Record book workday – May 8th – sign up for one-on-one feedback and assistance with your record book here.
Record books are turned in for those applying for county level awards, and for the county record book judging contest. Those who place 1st at the county level may also advance to the district level contest, and seniors who place 1st at district qualify for the state record book contest.
Record book folders are available to purchase for $5 cash or check made payable to 4-H Adult Leaders
