2024 – 2025 Major Show Lamb and Goat Validation will be held on the below dates and locations:
October 21 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the County Extension Office
October 28 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Leander High School
October 30 at the CEO by appointment
You must attend one of the above dates/locations. Location maps and details will be sent out closer to the above validation dates.
If there is not room in the lamb or goats’ ear for the state tag, validation cannot be completed.
The validation committee WILL NOT remove tags. TGBA or TLBA MUST be in the ear at the time of validation, or they will not be written on the validation paperwork.
The exhibitor is not required to attend. However, an Ag Science Teacher (AST) or County Extension Agent (CEA) overseeing your project MUST be in attendance. It is in the best interest of the family for a parent or guardian to be present as well. However, if they cannot be there, a hold harmless agreement MUST accompany the animal being validated. This form can be found here: Major Show Validation Forms (tamu.edu)
If a parent or guardian IS NOT present and a hold harmless is not signed, the validation team WILL NOT be able to validate that animal. If the AST or CEA is not present, the animal WILL NOT be validated.
The 2024 – 2025 Ethics Policy can be found here: 2024 – 2025 Ethics Policy One will be provided for you in your packet at check in, but please read over it and know what you are signing. If you have questions regarding the ethics policy, please call me. By signing the ethics policy, you are agreeing to all the parameters listed in it.
Packets will not be handed out in advance of validation. You will pick up all information needed for validation at check in. You will sign all forms AFTER validation has occurred and turn it in BEOFRE you leave. If a parent is not at validation, they will need to come to the office to sign by October 30, 2024.
We certainly look forward to seeing everyone!
