Did you know that tomatoes are a great source of lycopene? Lycopene is an antioxidant that is linked to health benefits ranging from heart health to protection against sunburns and certain types of cancer. Besides all that, tomatoes are just plain fun to grow!

On Friday, November 8, Williamson County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is hosting a Lunch and Learn program, and the topic will be “All About Tomatoes.”  Learn how to grow and prepare tomatoes and fun tomato dishes. Join us for lunch and find out how tomatoes are a part of a healthy diet. We will be serving tomato soup and grilled cheese for lunch and offering a few other tomato dishes such as a green tomato pie, chips and salsa. Following the presentation, join us for a tour in our demonstration gardens.

The program will be held at the Texas A&M AgriLife training room located at 3151 SE Inner Loop in Georgetown from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.
