1. Who can enter? Any Williamson County youth ages3-18 and adults (18 and up, out of high school) Age groups follow 4-H guidelines and are as follows:
Clover: ages 3-7  Junior: grades 3-5 (and at least 8 years old) Intermediate: grades 6-8Senior: grades 9-12 Adult: age 18 and up and not in high school
2. You may enter two photos per category for a total of 18 photos. The first two photos are free; all other shave a fee of $2 per photo.
3. Photos must be the original work of the student and for this 1st year only, may have been taken at any time in the past. Submissions to future competitions will be limited to one year.
4. All photos should feature wildflowers. Photos may contain other objects such as rocks, farm equipment, toys, etc. to enhance the scene, but the subject should remain the flowers themselves. This rule can be bent in the people–portrait and the people–candid categories where the subject is the person/people but it should be a photo that wouldn’t be possible without the flowers.
5. Photos are due on May 21 and should be emailed to georgetown4hphotography@gmail.com  Please submit only one photo per email to avoid lost attachments. Each photo should be named in the manner of Last name. first name. age division. Category code 1 or 2
For example: Smith.Sally.Senior.BW.2 would be the second black and white photo that Sally submits. The subject line of the email should match the file name of the photo to help the office staff sort and verify all the photos before submitting to the judges.
6. Photos can be any size or shape; they do not have to be 8×10! However, since we are emailing these photos you will need to resize the file to no more than 2mb (2048k). You can do this with several free picture resizers online such as Picresizer or Picasa.
7. Some minor editing is allowed in all categories but should be limited to adjustment to contrast, removing red eye, brightening or shadowing, etc. You may also use a program such as Photoshop or Gimp to remove a small unwanted item from the photo such as a piece of trash or dead stem, but the photo should not appear to be edited. Any help given to the student by parents should be age appropriate; senior level kids should be able to do this alone.
The point is to learn to TAKE a good photo, not to CREATE a good photo with
technology.
8. Photographs will be ranked 1st–5th place for each age division/category. Ribbons will be awarded.
