The topic for the Green Thumbs Up Gardening Series in July is “Tree Problems” presented by Williamson County Master Gardener Wayne Rhoden.  Wayne will discuss diseases of fruit and nut trees as well as diseases of landscape trees. Topics include: Fruit and Nut trees – pruning, planting, and diseases Landscape Trees – planting, pruning, and diseases Basic Tree Biology Oak Wilt Prevention and Treatment

On Saturday, July 27th, the topic for “Hands on in the Garden” will be Roses with Williamson County Master Gardener, Alice Stultz. Alice will be talking about Earth-kind Roses that are planted in our demonstration gardens, the benefit of roses tested by the AgriLife Extension, and other new varieties that may be available in the future. Our speaker is Jim Williams and he has been gardening since his childhood and has been a Master Gardener for the past two years. He will discuss weed identification and how to prevent and eradicate weeds.
