You are invited to our All you Knead to Know Bread Baking workshop, brought you by the Williamson County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Cottage arts are experiencing a revival as individuals are becoming interested in taking a more hands-on approach to their food. Guest speakers will speak on all thing bread related.
• Judy Adkins, Texas Extension Education Association will perform a live dry yeast bread baking demonstration on loave we will try during the tasting portion of the program.
• Katie Sindac, Williamson County FCS Agent will show you how to create and maintain your own wild yeast starter, mill your own wheat flour, the health benefits of using whole grains in your baking and demonstrate adding veggies to quick breads for healthier but tasty options. She will share tips, tricks, and tools for baking successfully at home.
• Gary Pastushok, Williamson County Ag Agent will speak on the relationship between agriculture and your dinner table (Crop to Food). The science behind your bread.
The workshop will wrap up with tastings! You will have the opportunity to sample several types of yummy breads. Cost is $30 with includes: Live instruction demo, educational materials, and tasting loaves.
Here’s a class that’s perfect for those of you with busy schedules that make mealtimes a challenge! You will learn how to prep meals ahead of time and safely freeze them for quick dinners. We will provide all the supplies along with tips and tricks to ensure each recipe is a tasty ‘freezer pleaser”.
Don't feel ant-sy about an outdoor program in the hot weather, we're persist-ant and we're going to beat the heat by heading indoors for our August session! Wizzy Brown, Extension Program Specialist IPM will be filling us in on Fire Ants during this Hands On In The Garden.
